About Course Menu
October – Kannazuki As the weather grows colder, it becomes the season to change into warmer clothing. This month is called Kannazuki because, according to tradition, all of Japan’s gods leave for Izumo Shrine, leaving the rest of the country without them. Yet even in their absence, Ebisu and Daikokuten are entrusted to watch over things, and the custom of enjoying beans and chestnuts on the night of the thirteenth moon reflects a distinctly Japanese sense of the season. As autumn deepens, we have prepared ingredients that truly capture the brilliance of the season. Peanuts, turnips, and chestnuts are reaching their sweetest point. Our seasonal hassun appetizer lets you appreciate the rich colors of autumn with your eyes first, featuring items such as mackerel sushi, salmon, chrysanthemum petals, mukago, grilled wheat gluten dengaku, Shine Muscat grapes, and persimmons. Naturally, these pair beautifully with sake and wine, while at this time of year, sweet potato shochu is also especially favored. As for our signature tempura, sweet potatoes and taro offer textures ranging from fluffy to richly smooth, while ginkgo nuts and lotus root are so delicious you will want to keep eating them endlessly. In addition, mackerel, barracuda, and shishamo bring a special excitement as the bounty of the sea gradually shifts toward winter. In the very heart of autumn, what seasonal flavors do you enjoy most? We carefully select and serve the finest ingredients of the day, from lingering seasonal delicacies to those at their peak and those just beginning to come into season. Savor the feeling of the season and enjoy the abundance of autumn. 【Ikkyu Special Benefit】 ■ Please choose one drink from the following: Sparkling wine / Draft beer / Red or white wine by the glass Fruit liqueur / Highball / Soft drink
