The appeal lies in the distinctive aroma of straw-grilling, seared all at once over flames exceeding 1 meter, and in the flavors that draw out the natural umami of each ingredient. The appetizers include straw-grilled selections such as duck and quail eggs, followed by dishes that evoke Kochi’s food culture, including a steamed chicken and tofu salad, sweet potato tempura, kibinago, and jakoten reminiscent of the Sunday Market. The course also includes straw-grilled chicken thigh, chirashi sushi with marinated bonito to finish, and even dessert, making for a highly satisfying menu.
